University of Cambridge in the U.K. has synthesized opal!

Using nanotechnology, The University of Cambridge in the U.K. has synthesized a substance that has structural color much like opals.

    The photo above is a synthetic opal & diamond pendant that was submitted to the lab for an evaluation and appraisal earlier in the week.
